Sarah’s Local Guide
Cariño Coffeehouse
Known for its community-first charm and thoughtful menu, it’s the place to go when you want something far beyond an ordinary latte. Everything on the bar is crafted with care, but take it from a local: the Dirty Horchata is the best thing on the menu.
Lacamas Lake
Can’t decide between a scenic hike or a day on the water? Lacamas Lake gives you the best of both worlds. Launch your paddleboard from Heritage Park for calm, glassy water along scenic shoreline coves, or lace up your sneakers for the shaded, six-mile lakeside trail network. Quintessential Pacific Northwest lifestyle!
Willows
Locally founded and deeply rooted in the community, Willows delivers a boutique shopping experience that feels warm, welcoming, and inspiring. Whether you're hunting for a cozy weekend knit, the perfect everyday denim, or a standout piece for your next dinner out, good luck walking out empty-handed!
The Elbow Room
Tucked inside the historic Paul’s on Broadway, The Elbow Room channels effortless 1970s nostalgia with moody lighting, cozy booths, and classic vinyl spinning in the background. Equal parts relaxed dive-bar charm and elevated lounge, it’s an Uptown classic reinvented. It’s easily one of the most character-rich spots in town.
Seattle Seahawks
No local favorites list of mine would be complete without giving proper love to the Seattle Seahawks. They might play three hours north at Lumen Field, but autumn weekends in this house are strictly reserved for Blue Friday and Seahawks football. Rain or shine, it’s always Go Hawks!
Sarah Huntington
Life here is meant to be lived outdoors. Whether that’s paddling calm waters, exploring a forested trail, or soaking up the vibrant local coffee scene, this is the place to be. Pair all that natural beauty with a deep love for sports (honorable mention for my Portland Trailblazers), and you have pretty much everything that makes this corner of the country so special to me.
